It looks like my business here in Finland is finally being sorted. It's been a heavy task, but thanks to a lot of good people it's gone quite well. Right now I'm bored, but that might be a good thing as I also feel mentally exhausted. I'll be home soon! YAY!

Espace rear brakes, I hate them, but now they're done

Brakes, aye.. one of those things on the car that's necessary, unappreciated, dirty, sometimes noisy. But one thing is for sure; they wear.
The Espace's rear brakes aren't that bad, but what's bad is that they require a special rewind-tool.
I also got it into my head that it would be a good idea to paint the disks (not the friction part).
It was a pain to do the piston rewinding. When I asked the shop, I was given this cheap thingy, it's basically just a key, but the good tool is one that pushes when it rewinds. I was never given the chance to part with the £30 - £50 to buy that tool.
I finally figured that with a bit of bending and prying we got the piston turned back. Sadly I had already fixed one side by sanding about 1mm off the brake pads. Bhlergh.
Well, it's all there now, and it seems to be working just fine. Tomorrow the car goes in to the garage to try to figure out why it keeps playing up a bit from time to time (like it did on my way home from Heathrow the other week when it died in the outer lane). Oh, and if they have time, they might even figure out why it keeps draining the battery. French cars rule! :D

A grand day out.

Grabbed our guests and dragged then to London. We walked from Leicester Square to The Tower on the Queens Walk. We had proper English weather; sunshine, rain and hail. Awesome! We then went to Camden and had some beers and periperi chicken. Now we just have to survive the train journey home. :) It's been a good day!

Blackbird's wing.

I let Patch out today; 10 minutes later she comes in with a blackbirds wing. What a good hunter she is! Now she's playing with her trophy. I guess I'll have some hoovering to do later. :)
Update: I let her out again... 5 minutes later she comes in with more feathers. She happily "hunted" the feathers until I took them away. So now I've vacuumed twice. I bet she'll sleep well now. And I'm not letting her out for a few days.

Cat philosophy.

We're getting guests tomorrow and Caz has been nice enough to prepare the guest bed already. This seemed to fit Patch's plans perfectly; look what a huge gorgeous bed Caz has made just for Patch! Cats rule. :)

It's not happening.

It's just not happening. It's not true. Impossible! Can't be. Bloody snow! In UK! In April! OMGWTFBBQLOL!! We were hoping to go for a motorbike ride. Back to bed I think.
